First Response to Growing a Farmer

Currently I have read Growing a Farmer up to the middle of chapter 4, but as of now I am patiently waiting for the book to become more interesting. There is a single aspect that I find very interesting in the book and it is Kurt's mindset to never give up no matter the position or condition that he is working in. If you go ahead and ask anyone currently living in Los Angeles if they are okay with living inside an abandoned chicken coop, odds are that it would be difficult to find someone to agree to the conditions, and genuinely would want to live inside the coop. When we turn to Kurt we see that he is ecstatic to live inside the coop and that he holds many dreams for the future of his coop or what he calls "home". What really lit my eyes was that Kurt, expectingly, failed not only his first attempt to harvest honey but also his second. As many may not know honey harvesting begins at the start of spring and comes to an end as spring does. Kurt had to wait an entire year just to see himself fail yet again, yet continued to not give up by patiently waiting another year till next harvest to find himself a successful beekeeper.

As I said before this book starts off on a very slow note with nothing exciting to hook the reader in with. Writing 340 is my first advanced business writing course I have ever taken, so I hold high standards for this book both on an academic and insightful standpoint.
